Nobody I know knows exactly but it is reckoned that the first 200 or so '74 models were produced with the RS flares.

So Pauls car possibly/probably was.

This is the other Paul speaking-the french one, i posted on IB -and i really want to say :WOW! !!
What a work on this fabulous car...she gonna be the most beautiful carrera in the world... As i promised you Paul,i keep for you the air compressor, he will be nice under a brand new trunk carpet. By the way,mr Nunn from Southbound say hello to you,i met this delicious sir in Paris last friday,he bring to me 2 fabulous period midnight blue door panels and 2 fabulous recaro sport seats for my carrera 2,7.
I m now searching desperatly a midnight blue carpet but very hard to find,even sir like mr Nunn or Tony Garcia are searching...if someone got an idea to get that mysterious carpet,please tell me...
Which carpet you think put in your car? Is she came with midnight blue too?
Just for info,my carrera as the number 4600372 and doesn t come with the rs flares...

Thank to all for your help and for make me learn everyday so many things on this incredible car...

Thanks Guy. Yes Mike, the 'RS' style flares were used up quickly and production switched to the more common 'SC' arch.
Only the first few weeks production in the '74 model year had 'RS' arches.
I believe the change was mid-October 1973.

That appears to equate to Euro Carrera chassis no's up to 0220-0240?
But some of the US Carreras also came configured with the 'RS' arch very early in the production run.
Therefore Porsche probably built 300 or 400 '74 model year coupes with those arches in total?
I think the number of shells with the 'RS' tunnel reinforcement was probably even less.

Paul, my car would originally have been fitted with the elusive Midnight Blue/Black carpet, just like yours would have. But not a trace of it remains in my car.
When discovered my car had a later, cheap, aftermarket plain black set installed.

I have hunted all over the world and an accurate reproduction does not exist, sadly nobody makes that colour carpet. Not in Europe, not in the UK, not in the USA.

I have not yet purchased my carpet set but I must do so soon.
And I will have to purchase black.

I've been away on vacation for a week but flew back in to Gatwick which gave me an excuse to visit Nick whilst I was nearby.
It was the first time I'd seen the car in Lime Green paint.
It's looking great.

Actually it seems the tunnel reinforcement is fitted to later cars than the RS flares, it is in another UK car #401 and also in #403. By the time of mine #486 it is not fitted.

Paul (pas 'Ferry Man' mais 'Carrera27' a Paris); have you checked to see if the tunnel reinforcement is fitted to your car which I believe it should be.

I have found the graal carpet! After have shown 2 samples -from Lakewell- of midnight blue (for 964) and a dark blue at mr Nunn,which weren t enough dark and too much "violine", i received yesterday 2 other samples from cabrio.de. One of them is #445, marine blue and is really the perfect color, close to black. I m now searching the underfloor with littles "tits"(:-O) oem finition. I have to glue that underfloor to the carpet,is that?

The lovely bike seems to be a Triton (triumph+norton),am i wrong?

@Guy: i will check if i got the reinforcement this saturday.

Dave Nunn can supply you with the correct "bobbled" carpet backing.

The bike is a Norton Dominator cafe racer, in for a bit of fettling after being used as decoration in someone's front room.
