I just built a car from existing parts with just a bit of self made components, while you seem to do it just the other way around!

I'm very impressed and in awe...

I just love what you are doing!

Tankframe done so now I can start fitting the wall between the firewall and dash back again using some more original 1302 beetle sheetmetal.

The Steeringwheel axle tube will be relocated appr. 4cm more to the left.

Also now continued working on the heater channels.

Still need to finish the floor between the wheelwells and floorpan so I made a pattern for those before I finished for the day...

A short visit to the garage today again...

Got the panel between the dash and tank almost finished. The passengerside is now done and the last patch for the driverside also done and pre-fitted. Need to be welded next time I have the time to go to the garage.

Also tried out the stainless steel bands I thought might look good on the tank.. :D

Today I bent the centerpiece too. Now ready for welding..

Not sure now if I will manage to go to the garage on Saturday as usual as we celebrate the Finnish Independent Day on Saturday...

We'll see what the Wife have planned...

Frontend finished. Next is to finish off the heaterchannels and some panels in the rear before I transplant the body back on again... :D

This is a fantastic build and as you are making such nice details, I wondered if you have considered moving the fuel cap into the centre of the tank?

I thinks I will keep the fuelcap inside the front. Due to the X in the cage I could not fit the gastank far back enough to get the filler in the suitable location in the hood. The fillercap should sit almost in the middle of the X.

Yesterday I testfitted the new seat so I just had to test if I can slip into it without bigger issues..

Didn't even need to be acrobatic to get into it.. :D

Sorry I did not make myself clear. I didn't mean for the fuel cap to go through the bonnet/hood, just in the centre of the tank but still underneath the bonnet/hood, like a standard 356.

I apprecaite it is a lot of extra work and is easy for me to sit here and type, just do this and do that.
I am still in awe of your skills.
