Front the front

We are all on our journeys so happy to have hit this mile stone. Bonnet and bumper being sprayed tomorrow, all parts to be moved to the specialist that is rebuilding from here...

... Excited to be moving forwards again

8) Looking lovely. What a colour! it would scare me to death putting it back together, I'd worry that I'd scratch it!

Yes, slate grey, interior is red.

I am thinking about putting the old interior back into the car, to preserve the original qualities of what is a 50 year old car, it has that certain smell...

It's a shame it's not leather but that was the way it was made. Do folks have opinions on refitting old rather than recovering?

I also note that the mechanism on the drivers side appears to be from a later 70s model as the tilt level is located in the side of the hinge. Am thinking this at least will need changing.

I am amazed at how much some parts are now selling for on these cars, am wishing that I bought bits at the beginning of the restoration rather than now, I see the price of seats has gone through the roof, with standard recaros selling at the levels sport seat would have changed hand for, and the sports seats costing the same an a small family car!!!
