Mick really like your car, once it's all finished I'm sure you will forget the pain involved.

I'm interested in the Porsche side script, any idea how accurate a reproduction it is? and

Could you please measure the total height from the bottom edge of the lower thin stripe to the top edge of the upper thin strip for me when you're next out in your garage.

I'm thinking of moving the door lower shut gap higher up on my project and it would be a good way to disguise it.

No real idea how accurate the script is

but it measures 102mm (4" to me!) overall

Thanks Bootsy, that's the nearest I've got to photographing all 3 together.
Improvement in weather means I'm busy part of the day finishing the R and driving the Rep for the other for part of the day and 'spare' time is spent trying to resurrect the garden. I've set myself a target of taking the R to the meet at Specialist Cars in Malton in April.... time will tell!
At that point I may well have all the cars outside together to take photos

See page 3 of this post. I believe they were made by/for RS911, they are fibreglass and bonded to the steel door shell. I'm now in the process of fitting Makralon door 'glass', lifting straps, interior door openers (as M471) and interior 'pull' handles (again as M471). Need perspex/Makralon quarter light 'glasses' with bubble vents

Mick/Pete - the inner grp 911R door panels were made by Barrie Martin @ Technic Motorsport (904GTS here on DDK).

Managed to get all 3 outside today, just so I could work on the doors and have plenty of space

Managed to get most of one door 'glass' fitted today
Also gives some detail of the door cards

Lifting strap (leather belt blanks). Aluminium channel at base of 'glass' to trap the leather and stiffen up the 'glass'

Note hole drilled to access the bolt fixing to the quarterlight

Additional lifter at top of 'glass'. It's a two handed job to open or close the windows

Still to fit - the Sam Brown stud that the leather will pop on to; the door opener (RS pulls); accurate hole/s in the leather for 3 positions - fully closed, half open, fully open.

Spent a goodly amount of time aligning the frame only to realise that I'd forgotten to re-install the lock case so out it all came again!

I'm not yet convinced that this is a good solution, but it does mimic the original R (one of 'em). I may yet go back to real glass
