These turned up a couple of days ago and I posted them out yesterday to everyone who replied before I placed the order (sorry lacymr - try real gaskets directly, he's very helpful) [except tanick - where are you?].

They look fine but I wont get around to fitting them for a while. I'll post back here on how they fit and how well they work - maybe one of the other buyers could too if they fit them sooner?

Sorry, just got back from business trip/ personal nightmare, you have PM.

Anyone used them yet? I'm going to fit mine this weekend so looking for feedback before I commit myself.

I've had mine on for a couple of months now - as an English friend of mine used to say, they're 'the dog's dangly bits'. (that does mean they're good, right?) On the uppers as I posted earlier, I enlarged the holes just a bit. When I then went to do the lowers I decided to leave them as they were and go with the tighter fit around the studs. That seemed to go fine and in hindsight is probably the way to go, but am curious to hear what you guys find when you install. Because they are thicker than any other gaskets they will start to squish a bit right around the studs if you torque them down as much as I had been doing with regular gaskets. I'm talking a lot more than the factory recommended value, but that always seemed to be a necessary thing before with 'regular' gaskets to prevent leaks. So probably best to go with the factory torque value for a start, and when you go back a couple of weeks later to check if any nuts need retightening I would bet they will be fine. I happen to be using the later turbo style upper covers on mine with the extra ribbing. Also, nothing beats taking your covers when you get them off and making sure they are nice and flat with a big old belt sander. No gasket will seal a burred or warped cover. The resulting 'red line' you get against the engine case is kinda cool looking too. I love 'em. Next - get the sump cover gaskets - you'll like those too.

Fitted mine but not run the engine yet. I found the recommended torque settings strange. Excuse the dust.

That looks like the 'squishing out' with normal torque values that I was referring to above. These are much thicker than regular gaskets and apparently just don't need that much torque to seal. If you back off a bit they won't have that appearance and will still seal just fine, at least that was my experience. Same with the silicone sump cover if you are using it.

Yep, you need to buy two sump gaskets. Don´t ask me how I know. Seems that Realgaskets since the time of my purchase have included 2 sump gasket in a set.

I can also only recommend these things. My valve covers have been off 3 times now with the current valve gaskets. They keep doing a top job!

Yes, our sump gasket sets come in pairs, one above and one below the basket.
