Yes, a '69 2.0E would originally have come with the style of engine shroud shown in Mike's (210bhp) post.

There could be a number of reasons that your engine has a later shroud :

- maybe the original shroud was damaged & a previous owner just bought whatever version of green shroud they could find
- possibly the original shroud was sold off at the same time as the mfi system
- maybe when the carbs were fitted they were part of an engine rebuild/'upgrade' thus potentially generating more heat

Do you know anything about the engine's history ?

Hi Andy

Not a lot. Only it had a top end rebuild about 10 years ago and seems to have been fine ever since...
