Serves you right for trying to be nice and reasonable Richard. Although in the original spirit of the thread and before irony/ supposed humour got in the way, you are a very nice person. See easily done to be positive!

Don’t worry, planning a thread regarding supplier recommendations where ddk’ers can actively request private reviews from members on a particular topic or supplier

Or we could just go to the pub. Face to face is the best place for gossip.
Dodgy traders take note - DDK-ers often know each other in real life. Injunction that if you can.

Ah, but we wouldn't. Because everyone in the world is much more civilised face-to-face than on their computer.
As my Granny didn't say: if you wouldn't say it to their face, don't type it.
For the record:
Dave - no irony / sarcasm / other humour regarding the belts, they are spot on.
Kirk - you are a gentleman and a scholar!

Say nothing but ask nicely!

ie:

"I'm thinking of using Mr X to do my engine. Any comments by pm please, good or bad, so I can make a decision. Thank you."

Perfect! The thread will be exactly that asking for private reviews

Why can't we name and shame? They do that in America. Here is an example:

I think we’ve covered that and with two legal threats within a fortnight I haven’t got the time or inclination to deal with it

The threats are empty. They’d lose. But I certainly don’t blame you for not wanting the battle. Not worth the stress.

OK, I have one for the "say something nice" thread.

- 123ignition. Absolutely excellent. Quality feel to it, and good customer service (e.g. answering questions promptly and accurately and dispatching / delivery of product). Not a product for everyone I get, but seems to have helped no end.
