I am shocked and stunned to hear this sad news. I got to know Mick very well over the last few years. I popped in for a cuppa and a catch up just a few weeks ago. He was the kind of guy that would help you with anything.

RIP Mick

Was only talking to him about his lovely orange T a couple of weeks back. He'd just got it running nicely after an engine rebuild. Shocking news.

I have so many stories to tell of our “Porsche” trips to either gather parts from Europe for projects or look at potential car purchases, the list is endless.

But I think I’d like to remember our friendship as our last conversation/meeting which was a couple of weeks before he went to France.

My phone rings

“Hello mate what’s up” G
“Can I borrow your lovely Brian James trailer to collect my 2.4E from Lee’s (octane)” M
“What after you broke the light the last time you used it? “ G
“I didn’t break the light mate it fell off” M
“Of course it did! Come and get it then” G….

Sometime later the trailer returns.

“There’s been a problem mate” M
“What” G
“The light fell off again” M
“Not the new one I replaced last time?” G
“No the other one” M
“Great!” G
“Don’t worry mate I’ll buy you a pint up the pub on Friday” M
“Fair enough” G

I'm dumbfounded. I never actually met Mick though it always felt I had. He helped me with info and advice on several occasions and his 'Doctors Car' thread was like a bible for me.
Lovely chap, so sad to hear he is gone.

I feel for his family.

Very sad news - I first met Mick when he'd just bought his E and was looking for some parts. He was very humble about his plans for the car and little did I know then just how skilled and hands-on his restorations would be. His threads on here and his willingness to provide help and advice will be much missed.

Even now I can't believe it. I thought Garry was calling to let me know he's finished the small speaker grill, and then I thought he must be talking about some other Mick.

I also have a treasured store of Mick Temple stories, usually when I was a victim of his northern common sense. So shortly after I'd bought my car 6 years ago, and having spend thousands with a specialist for an unsatisfactory result, I was talking through my options for restoring the car with him, all of which sounded even more expensive. So he looked at me and said "You've got two hands and at least half a brain; just get on and fookin do it yourself. If you balls it up I'll come and help you"

I did, and he did.

I realise now I did meet Mick at Classic LeMans when he came in his discovery . Sad news. Its a reminder to us all to treasure every day

So sad, what a lovely man. For someone who was so successful in business he seems so kind and gentle and also at peace with his life. RIP.

Remember people, tomorrow is guaranteed for no one.

Mike - Mick came to at least one DDK Christmas dinner at the Orange Tree so you may have met him without realising it ...

Very sad news. Again I didn't know him personally, but he was one of the DDK 'family' and enjoyed his contributions.
