Looks a great trip Mike - thanks for sharing the photos. That window open and brake disc temp thing on Pikes peak is pretty impressive - wonder what happened to tip them into doing that

well done Nige that was quick! I'd certainly never seen one before, and hopefully I'll never see another....

Hey! That's harsh. I love an Avanti. Raymond Loewy, don't you know. Quality design.
This one from Amelia Island. Lovely cars.

Cracking pictures Mike. The standard is very high on DDK so a pleasure to read / view.

Great stuff Mike. I did a similar route back in 1982 in a VW Rabbit Injection (a great little car) so the pics bring back some good memories.

So next morning this was the view on throwing back the curtains! The weather the day before had left the first coating of snow on the mountain tops..
It made for a fantastic backdrop to the show which was now up in the Mountain Village on the slopes above Telluride. Gerald was one of the first out dusting
down his car, he bought it 40 years ago for $1800 as a graduation present to himself and has toured all over the US, Canada and Mexico over the years, doing
3 engines in the process.

Sun's back out so even Mrs Mike's smiling! Telluride was a great place, it's a little off the beaten track so not so much on the tourist trail more a local hangout.
Don't know what it's like as a ski resort in season, but perhaps not so bling as Aspen and Vail. We loved it, great hotels and restaurants and really nice people.
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid liked it so much they robbed their first bank here, we used the ATM.

To quote Willie Nelson and Canned Heat from the road trip playlist, we're back "on the road again". Leaving Colorado and heading into Utah, from this.....
to this in two hours...
