Are they your original sills?

Feroz - I've been discussing interior options and work on this will start very soon. The window frames have gone to Nick Moss for re-anodising, the seats have gone to Garry (VisualFX) for restoring, and Mike at Classic Chrome is sorting out the stereo. I am hoping that the car will be ready towards the end of May.

Darren - One sill was repaired and the other replaced. I will post up some pics of the restoration work in due course - there was quite a lot of metal work involved but we preserved what we could. Unfortunately the car had a poor restoration done in the late 90s and so additional work was needed to correct that

One of the things that I am debating at the moment is the wiring loom - the plan was originally to keep what was there but I am now thinking of going for a new one. The thought of 40 year old wiring in the car is worrying me and now would be the best time to deal with it. I would be interested in thoughts in this

Really good progress and May would be a great result if you can get on the road by then. Lots of bits to do and the obvious snagging once complete.

If this will be a daily driver, I would definitely go for a new loom and save yourself the trouble of doing it again later. Nice to preserve original parts but for regular use I would replace.

My 911T was the same colour originally but this is the first time I've seen the colour 'fresh'.

Shell looks very very good.

I used POR 15 for all of the underside panels...2 full costs and then their propriatory primer, prior to stone chip and then body colour

Depends on your funds regarding the loom...if you can afford to do it then go for it...if not....as with mine I took the entire loom apart , cleaned the cables with white spirit and checked all the wires and connections, then spiral taped it back together...no issues 7 years later...I only had 1 area which had been altered to put in an immobiliser, so simple task to replace with new wiring to match the old

An update:

My engine rebuild has just been finished - we kept the original airbox (as it was in good condition with stickers etc), the fan and housing have been newly chromated and I was very lucky to get a NOS green engine shroud ( a copy was ordered but had to be sent back as the quality wasn't good).





The CDI frame has been refurbished and the internals of the CDI box replaced



My new wiring loom has also been installed



An interior pic too (refurbished by Garry at Classic FX- nb the headrests have now been replaced)



Hopefully only a few more weeks until pick up - and I will post some proper pictures of the restoration in due course.

There are a lot of Es currently being restored - would be good to see them all together one day.
