It's sad when enthusiasts are priced out by wealthy speculators. Bet the badges will never be driven properly.

They will either be hidden away or just pulled out on a sunny Sunday morning, polished, the nuts screwed on and off a few times to make sure they are still working, covered up and put away again.Ant22 wrote:It's sad when enthusiasts are priced out by wealthy speculators. Re: DDK Grille Badges and Keyrings - charity auction
I've added additional welding weight to the bottom corners of my grille badges to make them nose down more into the corners...

I believe there is a feature in next months Octane magazine by Mr Coucher extolling the virtues of the handling of the early DDK key fobs .
No doubt this will be a thinly veiled advert for the next Bonhams auction that includes one of the fabled first 1000 with the thinner enamel and softer leather fob and slightly larger diameter metal ring .

I need to shoot these for full feature - maybe even a cover. I'll call Jamie now and see if he can do a rig shot of the badges to give the impression of them at speed along twisty country road.

I'll match that. I bid £35 for a keyring.
What would be really cool is if the maker (Paul?) could produce the Fuchs size keyring just in the same way as the large badge i.e. without the loop for the leather tag. I have an idea!
Regards
Mike

So by my reckoning we currently have...
1 badge at £100
1 badge at £110
1 key ring at £35
1 key ring at £35
1 key ring at £25
That's a running total of £305 raised - superb!

Re: DDK Grille Badges and Keyrings - charity auction
Ok, put me down for £45 for a key ring. But I'm afraid it will be exported out of the country to the far east... I can promise t will be used though...
