The turbo stripe was available as an option, in black or white; my car had it when I bought it, so I reinstalled it. Love it.
As slope330 says, it's shadow writing, quite complex to install!

We went to Brightwells this morning to checkout the 75 Turbo
I'm afraid it's not so nice, rust bubbling through in many places and the history shows a lot of secondhand panels have been used throughout the years probably to combat rust previously , ? Rear tail genuine, it had had 2 replacements in history. Engine was very wet and didn't look in good health
We went with the intention of bidding but left early.
IMO needed a fully blown body and mechanical restoration
Pity as obviously a rare car but needs some one braver than me to tackle it.
Let's hope no one buys it on internet bidding as I am pretty sure they will be shocked when they get close to it

What a shame - it photographed so well. Just goes to show... Thanks for posting the info.

May I ask how your '67S is coming on? It's been a while since you've updated the thread. Thanks. :)

Shame it was a poor car, it's just so difficult to find a nice one. So what did it sell for?

Most of the stuff for sale at auctions seems to be 20 footers these days. Probably all being thrown in on market frenzy hoping someone will bid sight unseen.

Owners are all hanging on to good cars just watching the market.

Seems to be a gulf between 'projects' and concourse stuff available and little for sale inbetween.

There's been some nice hot rods available but even they are all big money now.

Not a good time to be a buyer methinks...

I'm told it went for £58.5k plus buyers which means £65k??
IMO there will be a very disappointed internet bidder
I thought it was worth £20-25k as a full restoration project
Would be interesting to know if someone in the room bought it or it went to an internet or phone bidder
We looked at it and even though it's a 75 RHD I can't get my head round £65k!

3 litre turbos are getting strong money in the US at the moment, they seem to be flavour of the month. I saw a lovely example, with an equally lovely price last month, circa 225,000 dollars!

$225k?!? A 75 or later one? I know a black 76 one, all original but a little bit scruffy, for sale in Italy for Eur 65k (or 70, can't remember well), seemed so expensive!

I have a 76 turbo for sale at the moment.. was going to build a 934 replica, but seeing the prices rise has made me hesitant.
1976 usa market car (california car)
Black on Black
NON- sunroof
100,000miles
K27 turbo, euro headers, Garretson intercooler
16" Fuchs
993 GT2 rear wing but correct wing included.

I was going to pinch all the running gear and stick it on my ST shell.. and upgrade to 935 style suspension. Now, not so sure anymore..

Seems that returning it to standard is the best plan!
