The motor is one that Reading used to train technicians, so had been dis-assembled and re-assembled umpteen times. When they came to fit it to the shell they realised that with the transmission fitted it didn't fit, hence Neil's intervention.

There's a piece about the car in the latest copy of Classic & Sportscar magazine. OPC Reading had the car lying around already, but it was in a poor state before they started work. Funnily enough there's no mention of having to enlist the help of an outsider, but there is a suggestion they'd be happy to do some more.
