did anyone else see the Porsche advert on page 9 for an official "classic you drive" day at the Porsche experience centre Silverstone. from memory they have various handling circuits including a wet / ice bit with kickplate

as they say in the ad "will enable you to explore the handling of your pre 74 Porsche in a safe non competitive but exciting environment" ... sounds a complete no brainer to me

Evening All -

I bought a copy this week and am enjoying it very much - especially nice when you know (through DDK) the owners at least to some extent :)
I've almost bought a twin outlet "rally" exhaust from Bert, I've seen the work Mike Holloway was doing on Ian's other car - the 2.2S and I'm sure I've had quite a few exchanges with Simon

I didn't realise Ian owned the Historika ST - WoW !!! 8)
That car - combined with the 2.2S - makes him a very luck man indeed! Not sure if Ian's been on here for a while - but it would be good to know how the 2.2S is coming on - its probably finished by now.

Anyway - great magazine Keith - many thanks !

regards
Sean

I think that project has come to a stop for quite a while now. Shell was all painted and looking fabulous last time I saw it a few years ago. Don't think it has moved on much since **

** assuming I have got the right Ian and it's an orange car.

Good to see the first advert has arrived. This is something that a few of us have been talking to Geoff Turral at Porsche Cars GB about for a while. It is part of an initiative to build closer relationships between early Porsche UK owners and Porsche Cars GB/Porsche Classic. The event will provide a driving day for all pre-74 Porsches without going for a full on track day. Hopefully Porsche Classic will be involved as well on the day. It is open to any owner of a pre 74 Porsche. It would be good to see it well supported and for it to become a regular thing and for other events to follow.

Ian.

Ian, do you happen to know if they noise test cars at the Experience Centre? My exhaust is borderline.

Thanks,

Philip

it's not a race track so no noise tests.

i've been nagging Geoff Turrell to do this for ages..i am gutted that i've no longer got a classic to use. would have dearly loved to have taken the Policecar along to this.

Come on Helen this is in May .. I'm sure you will have bought and sold a few more by then :- )

Never seen a noise test at any previous drive day Philip.
