You may be allowed to use car in new 50's GT Championship which is reasonably priced and similar cars.Ideal place to start.

Think I would have a days testing at Snetterton or Donington before venturing to the car bending site at Goodwood.

That is a fantastic looking car and great to see it will be raced over here - look forward to seeing it out on track.

Always wanted a nice 356 done as a race or outlaw style.....so an idea for a future car comes to my mind when I saw that.

thanks guys. John R - which series are you referring to? I googled 50's racing series but couldn't find anything. Do you have a link to a site? thanks, Steve

That's the one.

They are looking for a captain of Porsche 356 Team so you would be very welcome. The people who are running it understand what is needed for a decent club racing series.

Suggest you make contact.

We will be doing Patrick Peter events at Pau,Le Mans,Paul Ricard and Spa with the Pre 63 GT throw in for good measure at Donington,Silverstone and Algarve.

Usual couple of rallies ,Tour Britannia and something at end of year .The Tour Auto clashes with Pre War rally so that's off agenda.

Please contact me if I can help in any way

I certainly can't compete with JR, but I'm also tempted by the 50's series - I have a Lotus 7 S1 that might fit the bill, plus a secret pre-A under construction! Best wishes, Robert

Yes, although I'm not going to live to see xmas if I'm not careful. I gently mentioned to SHE WHO MUST BE OBEYED that I was obviously going to need something to cart the race car around in and suggested a 7 tonne race truck seeing they weren't much more than a covered trailer. She told me where I could stick the truck. She's also cottoned onto the fact that a series of race weekends comes free of charge with a race car. When she enquired whether the number of races was more than one, I said yes, just slightly, without mentioning the fact that you could spend every weekend of the spring and summer going round in little circles if you wanted to.... I'll broach that topic when she's full of mince pies and mulled wine I think.

How about one of those old converted 70's coaches? You know the kind with a rear tailgate.

It's been a pleasure and honour to know you. Shame, we'll all miss you.

If you survive long enough to do some testing at Goodwood you WILL let me know in advance so I can come & gawp at you & Ian.

We'll be at Goodwood in Feb... I did think about a coach, but it's a bit OTT for a beginner!
