356 and Scooters - air cooled DNA.

I started and ran the GS last night - third kick after winter lay up - am having doubts about wanting to part with it now !!

Engine is being entrusted to Mr Prill - happy to post his spec and estimated HP when I've visited and talked it all through with him. Prob to late for your article though.

Even a spec of the engine would be good. I could also follow the progress on a monthly basis?

Will get some pics of my Li125 up later - still lurking in my garage awaiting a mechanical rebuild (next year now due to time/ funds).

And yep, I'll be there for Hedingham. My 356 is up with Paul (PRS) at the moment - has had a few bits done that I've wanted for a long time (dual circuit brakes/ new fuel pump/ fuel guage fixed) and now about to have oil filter cleaned out and then hopefully back next week. Can't wait to get it back! No doubt the good weather will stop on that very day

Mine is at PRS too

Couple of bits I have wanted for ages -

Trim for the front and rear screens / Tangerine oil filter / Lap belt eyes for kids in the back / Electronic rev counter (so I can fit a remote oil cooler later!)

Plus Service and MOT

So please do a sun dance for me too as hoping to collect on Monday!
I keep looking at the PRS blog but Little Rascal seems to be the last update!

My TV is in a 1000 bits as i bought it (metalic blue...original colour and horrible) and stripped it asap 11 years ago. I paid £650 for it as a near runner but totally complete and rust free.
Other projects got in the way for hillclimbing, but maybe this Xmas.

I would think to restore 'as new' will cost £2000 in bits and services (powder paint etc)?

All pics i have are 'analogue' and no idea where they are but it has the chrome headstock ring etc so a nice one and a perfect seat too!
Oddly it has a steel Li front fender, but i have a new f'glass one now.

I was on the fringes of being a mod in the late 60's, wish i had kept my Lambretta from then, a TV/GT 225 with Wildcat 5 port conversion/Amal etc and no brakes...and a union jack helmet too!

Sounds like a sound investment. They fetch up to £5000 nowadays. Build it. Ride it. Enjoy it. Am off out on my Series 2 now. Am passing Simon's house so will rev up at the lights!! (ring ding ding ding).

Ols scooters are not exactly Green.

However, they look 'cool'.
I but Scootering every now and then and the prices fully restored are getting high for the right spec.

Do people actually realise the prices?

I've got my long-tail Parka ready for next spring.

Not sure if they do - I see SX / TV200's advertised quite high but I never know anyone that has paid that high. A mate of mine has a good one he is selling for £4000. A price he says is realistic.
Parka's so last year hoho...but an original Crombie?
