I've used leicester plating for a few things in the past and they've done a good job without charging the earth, however not used them for brass parts before..
also if you're looking for annodizing there is a company just down from the new porsche centre in leicester called something like SPL blacking and they annodize everything and anything to any colour (I believe they mix the stuff to suit so might be of use to Bert too if you have details of the colour code?..)
