Some interesting info on here - ok the article is about a 996 but gives some options to try

(Oh and the Ebay Prince listing made £173 - suspect it was indeed seen by someone else on here, if they use the same username)

Indeed, even with some serious panic bidding in the end (with wife egging me on and then telling me what a crazy xxx i am - we're house hunting at the moment you see!! but then we're always 'something' hunting) i didn't win. Seems, hot66, you were dead right - these seats command some high prices. Just saw another on German ebay go for 331euros!! There are a couple more just starting out so I have another chance in a week.

But, despite all that, that thread you posted was very, very informative. Thanks for that.

Hi,

I'm using one of these:

http://www.mamasandpapas.co.uk/product-2447253/type-i/

(Mamas & Papas Pro-Tec) in the back of my '71, it fits well and was recommended for my car by Quickfit SBS - they also suggest the Maxi Cosi Rodi.

Cheers,

Chris

Maxi Cosy Rodi (not the XP) are the best fitting i've seen in a 911. Do a search on Pelican for some options as well.

Thanks for the link Chris - I'll take a look at one of those as well.

It appears that the Maxi Cosi Rodi is only suitable for children rather than toddlers (group 2/3) from about 3 years (15kg)
I need a group 1 from 9months (9kg)

That's gas! That M&P seat looks remarkably like the one I have for the 'normal' car. Surely I must have tried it in the past year!! But then I'm so distracted since 'the boy' arrive its quite possible i haven't.

Good news is I have managed to source a Prince.

Ok...for just out of the rear facing seat....i had a m&p's seat fitted by quikfit....i think it was called a sicuro (up in the attic). They fitted an extra belt in the rear to securely hold the seat and it was perfect.

Just bought 2 Maxi Cosi Rodi XP.. and they do fit!

The XR doesn't though as it is much wider. The XP has been discontinued so buy them now while you have the chance.

A browse of Mothercare world and Halfords yesterday showed up nothing even slightly suitable. All new seats have a very wide square base and don't go anywhere near the back seat of a 911. Much better for stability in the other 99.9% of cars so fair enough I guess!

I got mine from ebay seller vicarpoof (Is that the best ebay name ever or what!) for £67 each.

Well going on what Gary has done with the Rodi XP's I found this lady who as some left in her shop

She will send me her tell numbers in a mo..

But she has 2-3 left in Grey/black and black with a orange piping ( what I got ) called Flash.

all are the XP Rodi's and new in box ( as nige says best to buy new )

best buy new if you can, you don't know the history of the seats (i.e. crash history), abit like trusting secondhand seatbelts only worse.
