I believe they use a smooth Schultz type product then paint over it to give a top finish.
I'm just checking out availability of a spot at Rustmaster to get the cavities dosed with treatment - it doesn't seem too far out of the way from the ferry and I want it to keep it's looks for the years ahead!

I agree - I think the cavities should be protected but perhaps the under-arch areas and floor should be kept as original and cleaned as you mention. It does make a big difference to the look.
There are, however, transparent products available so will discuss that with the guys there to see how it would look.
Mine will be for sunny days as well though I am expecting a bit of rain on the way back from Germany....! I think the run back to the Riviera on the A-roads will be amazing though.

That looks absolutely amasing - like a new car.
From your location, it looks to be a pity we will not see the car here in the UK.
More photos please as it develops.

Thanks for the replies - St Paul and surrounding area is wonderful in Spring - just like a Top Gear report.
We are wondering around in short sleeves here now finally.... sorry to rub it in!
I think the rust proofing applied in Karlsruhe is just a basic system - perhaps a little better than the factory but still fairly sparse, hence the enquires with the Waxoyl doctor in the UK, especially for the closed box sections and famous rust spots.
Actually car will be based in both France and UK, depending on my work. I must admit, I can't wait now. Even my mother, a Skoda driver through and through, is on the phone asking when it's arriving and booking her place for a trip....
If anyone is down this end on holls, drop me a line and certainly a glass of decent rosé might well be on the cards.

Hello Paul,
I visited Fresinger's last summer and saw a very similar (yellow but a later numbered) RS Touring that he was just finishing for a Danish customer (?)
The finished product was a m a z i n g, and as Ian mentioned, 'like a new car'. I'm sure you've seen some of his finished cars but if you haven't, believe me, you will not be disappointed.
Funnily enough he mentioned car #24 and told me he had just sold it to a Russian chap (along with a further Touring, in black)! Paul? Are you that Russian?
If you're not then I'm happy as it will mean we will probably get a better chance to see your lovely new car at some point.
Hopefully we'll all get to see you & the car sometime this spring/summer.
Well done, good luck and all the best!
