Excellent. I'll start to put a rough itinerary together with Jon and let you all know asap.

Best,

Also very very interested - the wife's negotiated a week cycling in Scotland so I'm well into credit in the favour bank.

Could we really do Spa AND the ring? - living the dream...

If I'm potentially going to be driving at high speeds, might fit a ducktail....

Hi there,

Its easily doable. I've even done it in one very long day!

Please add me to the list. This is my year for the Ring and anything else would be a bonus.

Hi everyone,

I hadn't received any automatic notification of your posts so sorry its taken time for me to get back to you.

The itinerary would probably look somethig like this.

August 28th arrive Spa
August 29th Porsche Cub Franco Fun Day
August 30th drive to Ring early morning followed by track time
Evening drive down mosel to Traban Trabach Art Nouveau Hotel
August 31st drive across Ardennes to Bouillion
September 1st make own way home

Or it could be:

September 27th arrive Spa
September 28th early morning drive too ring usng road book followed by track time and drive back to Spa
September 29th Porsche club track day at Spa followed
September 30th Drive through Ardennes to Bouillon and then onwards to return home

I still need to discuss this with Jon in Luxembourg (Jon I'll be in touch next week). All of this requires confirmation of the availability of Spa and the Ring. Accomodation for Spa will either be a Hotel in Francorchamps/Stavelot or self-catering bungalows near Malmedy.

Give me a couple of weeks to confirm with the Porsche Club Francorchamps.

Regards,

Nick

Excellent news!

I'm easy with either set of dates - I'd prefer the earlier set cos the later one clashes with my wifes birthday but that doesn't need to be a problem if anyone else must have the later dates.

I'm definately on for this

Cheers

Mark

Sounds like a great itinerary. Spa was love at first sight for me.
The September dates look like unfortunate timing though - that's the weekend before the Spa 6 Hours,
and I reckon that if there's a DDK convoy heading to Francorchamps at that time of year, it's got to be for the 6 Hours!

Hi All,

I don't seem to be getting notified of posts to this thread. I don't tend to look otherwise!

Looks like we're going for the end of August date. I just need to chat to the Club. If you want earlier in the year I suggest the Porsche Days in May. See www.porscheclubfrancochamps.be for registration. I've registered only for the Friday as I found that Sats and Sundays get too crowded.

I'll be in touch in the next week to confirm dates.

Hi All,

Things are moving slowly but at least they are moving. I've had our participation cleared by the Spa Porsche Club for 29th August. Details will be available from the club in June. Its usually about 150 EUR for the day.

The ring is open from 5.15 pm till 7.30 on 30th August and so we can take a leisurely drive over on Friday from Malmedy.

For anyone interested I am also organising a Brussels-Strasbourg tourist rally for Members of the European Parliament and friends starting on 30th. We will be travelling on from the Mosel ending up in the Black Forest on the Sunday and visiting the European Parliament on Monday in Strasbourg.

For those who want to return to the UK on 1st Sep I will provide a road book and hotel details for the Ardenne.

Anyway please let me know now if you are definitely coming to Spa and or the Ring and I will sort out accomodation (that you can then guarantee withyour own cards).

We'll get there eventually

Best,

Nick
