There are several differences in both the front and the back of the reproduction new badges to the originals. Different base material too. What does it weigh in grammes Paul?

Don't listen to the naysayer's Paul........the new badges are indeed 'genuine', to my eye indistinguishable from old ones and look just as they would have when the cars were new....I think they look great!

I did marvel at just how many cans of sealer were required.
In an effort to deflect my disbelief Nick sent me this pic.
Don’t count them, they’re not all pictured here, you’d run out of fingers & toes anyway....

If you’re budgeting for a restoration make sure you set aside plenty of money for rubber seals and sprayable sealer.
Sealing – I’ve learnt – is an expensive business.

Oh yes, the height of luxury.

But mine were a bit dusty so I bought brand new ones from Porsche.

Oh, actually, no I didn't.

In fact I got them disassembled, stripped, cleaned and re-plated.
And now they are 40 year old mechanisms that look like new.
Original, yet good as new.
