Thanks Ray! Yes would be great catching up when all these covid restrictions are out of the way, I can see an alp trip coming along.
Can't wait to see your hot rod, love the colour!

Great to see it shiny again! It was looking a bit sad down at Barry’s when I dropped my car of.

Getting the car home didn’t turn out exactly as I had imagined, I met up with the transportation guy on the French side to reload the car to my trailer, and this is where it all went a bit wrong...

When I reversed up on the trailer I scratched/dented the rear quarter and passenger door. Needless to say a few Swedish swearwords were spoken and copious amounts of whiskey were drunk when I came home...

On a positive note the paint job really exceeded my expectations, which is a first for me. Now I’ve just got to find someone as good for the repair.

Finally back in the garage, a pretty long list of jobs to do before being back on the road but will start chipping away next week.

Took a brave pill and set about prepping the original exhaust, surprisingly it was a lot less rotten than I expected and only required some minor welding to the outer skin. Just need a splash of paint now.

The Dansk sport one currently on gotta go as I can’t stand the ugly tail pipe.

Painted the original silencer in zink primer and fitted it, also repositioned the rear bumper trims whilst I were at it.

Then replaced the fabric braided fuel lines in the engine bay with standard non braided items for peace of mind, and chucked a new filter on as well.

Passed the safety inspection with flying colours, as it’s registered as a classic it’ll be another 6-7 years until it’s time for the next one.

Mechanically the car feels pretty good, it’s long time since I last drove it but I imagine it feels stiffer with its new structure welded in.

Still a few cosmetics to sort in the interior but for now it’s all about driving it as much as possible.

So I kind of lost the mojo when scraping the right hand against the trailer, stuffed the car in the garage after the safety inspection and ignored all thoughts about getting it fixed for some 3 months… more importantly it’s been sorted to a good standard now, just collected from the painter today.

Here a shot just after collection, admittedly not the most exciting background but at least without dents
