A rubber bush is not a simple press fit like the polybushes.
You won’t easily install rubber bushes without some mechanical assistance.
And Elephant have thought of that and their kit includes a nicely machined tool to help installation.
You’ll still need a bar clamp or press to fit them but it helps make the impossible possible.

My hard 'racing' front bushes (Weiltmeister, sp ) squeeked like mad and only regular engine oil stopped it for a while.
They are now rubber bushed (2nd hand from much missed Husband Crawley autojumble years ago, both for £100)
Never noticed ANY handling difference at all except the silence.

did you loose the chassis number on the top of the dash pressing?
Well sanded primer-filler is a very exotic feel, endless fun with #800 for someone.

We will need dark sunglasses when it comes out of the spray booth.

The 'body-in-white' looks great.

Sorry to correct you here Paul, but body-in-white refers to a bare metal shell rather than a primed shell.

The Elephant bushes looked way too small when I got them out of the bag, I was sure Paul had bought the wrong kit, but were easy to fit and stretched to size using a hydraulic press. I don't think it would have been so easy with the pipe clamp that Elephant recommend. When fitted they look and feel remarkably like the originals.

"Bare", as in with nothing attached, rather than without any paint.

TBH, I've heard the phase in reference to replacement shells (as purchased by race teams and others such as Ruf) and also by bodyshops (when it might mean bare or primered depending on who you speak to)

Probably has some dusty origin that most people have forgotten .

OK, you got me there. It's a term that Ford used when I was a design engineer there for the shell BEFORE it was painted! I hate to quote Wikipedia, but they agree.
