I think you must have been quite lucky ! He's a lovely bloke and really knows his stuff, but in the 4 years I've owned the car (it came with the ECU) I've had to play a great deal of telephone and e-mail tag with David. Likely to get worse as he's a new dad too !

I've asked him if he's prepared to go down to Nick's for the day (I'll pay hours and expenses). That would be optimal really.

So, while the car is languishing, unable to start, I thought I might ask for views on ride height. Nick thinks this is pretty much just right, but it looks a tad high to me. James thinks it's way too high. Thoughts ?

Too high in my opinion.

The car looks great but a bit high for me.
Could the starting problem be a gummed up fuel pump? They
like standing for nearly 3 years less than injectors.
I'm in the process of back dating a dash and would be very
interested to see how you did it.

Ooh ooh ooh!

Sladey's old ECU saved the day ! Not only did it start first time, it passed an MOT. I'm back on stoneage ignition tech, but at least it runs !

Well done.

:lol: :roll: that stone age tech that still works after all this time and keeps that CO2 in check for an MOT pass.

So...should have been picking it up this morning, but Nick's just discovered a chip in the paintwork that can't be touched up, so it's back into the paint booth. Hopefully should be getting it back midweek. I've got a meeting at Williams F1 this week, and was itching to park it in their carpark...sad bugger that I am.

@Andytat

Not sure if this helps, but it's a close-up of the dash and clock delete (Nick re-ducted the middle-dash vent into a mini eyeball vent).
