Hi Adam - glad you've sorted your seat at last, I can stop looking now...

I can confirm the 'Barry' experience is worth the wait.

Quick progress report. Got the casings and pump back from Redtek, oil pressure relief mod, shuffle pin, line hone main journal bore, time sert head stud holes and reface barrel decks as advised by DDK :salute: Not sure exactly what was needed as it went so well but cant imagine it will harm anything and gives piece of mind.... My wife collected the casings so never had chance to go through it all with Nick but plan on popping in at some point.

Another mortgage taken out and all panels ordered....new roof, front inners/outer wings, rear outers, sills etc etc as advised by Mr Carter. Luckily had some lads working in Glasgow in empty vans and took 2 trips in large sprinters to get them all in!

Image

And then the 300 mile trip down to Barry where it will sit quietly for a while observing whilst Barry finishes off a couple of other shells in their final stages. To Barrys suprise I managed to keep the full bare shell rust free in the garage all summer and thankfully a dry trip down

Redline almost ready to start rebuilding engine and gearbox, they just finishing 964 turbo engine rebuild first.

Got a message from Gary GDC Automotive) who has completed the wiring loom, fuse box, wiper mechanism, steering rack, pedal box, fuel filter, fresh air fan. All been stripped, cleaned and painted. Looking forward to seeing those bits!! Gary is booked in to rebuild the majority of the car after I saw the workmanship on 'The' Mongrel street racer!

Does anyone have any advice on getting seats/ interior refurbished please?? I have an old photo and the 'leather' look strip across the dash appears to have been originally blue, how would I find the correct colour and also that of the rest of the interior?

TP81 (Tom) on here is restoring a gemini blue 2.4E Rhd in Scotland. His interior was blue and he has done a ton of work investigating it. I believe he is close to securing some material which is close to original. You may want to pm him Adam for info.

Regards
Mike

Hi Adam,
I think you are 2 ahead of me in Barry's queue, so I'm watching with interest! Exciting times, hope it goes well, you are in safe hands.

Wow that really is blue!!! Crikey, how would I find out the original spec? How do I know if the old photo of the blue is original? Would my recaro seats be blue too?? Must admit I love the all black current interior but......
Anyone got details of who can restore the seats and interior please?

Hi, I think that pic is one of my old cars. It was a great car with a great interior. I have more pics of it if needed plus we have samples of the original materials used. Getting the carpet will be the hardest job. I have some very close samples but if required I could get some made but this is reflected in the price. We are having original grey/black salt and pepper made at the moment to exact match the original.

Many thanks for the info Alan. Would you happen to know how I would find out the original colour combo?

Thanks guys, big decision and don't want to get it wrong. I'll do some more digging and contact you if that's ok.

Quick question, does anyone on Ddk know where I can get a green engine cowling as redline almost ready for fitting it and mine is all faded? I assume you can't treat/paint the original?
