I had a nervous moment the other day when a friends 'keep the date' email came through for a wedding. It's the weekend after this - good news!

We are now moving to the second stage of this event, getting a commitment via a deposit.

The question has been asked about what nights etc. will be part of the package so here are some details to help those planning their holidays.

The package will be for three nights Friday/Saturday/Sunday.

We plan to have a rallying point in central Scotland which will be open all day on Friday. From there people can proceed to Killin in small groups.

The plan for Monday is to have a smaller trip which will be heading in a southerly direction which will allow people to then proceed home.

Nothing firm as yet as I was waiting for the Easter/May holidays before contacting Tayside again. All accommodation has been booked we just need to firm up on dinners etc. But trust me their will be no flying by the seat of anyone pants. Michael is in charge and long before the big event you will know all that you need to know!

It’s nearly summer and thoughts turn to holidays, Le Mans Classic and of course the event of the year the 2014 DDK Highland Tour.

Plans are in hand and it is our intention to arrange a convenient meeting point on Friday 22nd August at a spectacular venue where you can view the sights or blether over a coffee while others arrive. If you wish to make your own way to base camp, no bother, we look forward to meeting you there.

As with the 2007 tour we are offering an all-inclusive package which will include accommodation for 3 nights (Friday/Saturday/Sunday), breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, a BBQ on Saturday night and a three course meal in the beautiful Boathouse restaurant on the Sunday evening. Lunches each day and breakfast on Monday will be your own responsibility depending on your driving plans each day.

There will be two days of touring, Saturday and Sunday, enjoying the best roads and stunning scenery Scotland has to offer. These will be long driving days so prepare with a hearty breakfast and nibbles for the tours. Top up with oil and have a full tank ready for an early start both days.

There will be mixed accommodation and some will involve sharing and some not. There are some new types of billet and some traditional. All are superb, comfortable, in a great location and we are sure you will be impressed.

At this stage we are keen to give everyone their preferred accommodation. There is plenty of room but we also have lots of cars and bodies to put together. It's possible not everyone will get exactly what they want but we will try. In general, the more people want to bunk up together the bigger the lodge, the greater the cost per person. We have a very limited number of 'couples' accommodation for shy types which is smaller, less luxurious and a bit cheaper. When we release the types of accommodation in our next post it will be, in the main, first come first served. However, if some are desperate to be together as a group let us know now. If anyone has special dietary needs or any other special requirements speak up now.

You will need to vacate your accommodation on Monday after breakfast and we will say our goodbyes.

I know this is very late (my excuse being I have only recent moved back to the UK and bought another 911)...but are there any places available for this tour? How big is the reserve list? Anyone going but staying elsewhere?
