Collected the car on Wednesday & am pleased with paint. It came in within budget & within the estimated finish date which in a world of let - down body shops means a lot. I would definitely recommend Paul Irving at Irv's VW restorations.
So spent the last three days in the garage & made decent progress, most of the parts were prepped & ready to go on & three long days makes a big difference to the odd hour here & there.
The first problem was the windscreen, I paid a company to come & fit the front & rear screen & they cracked the front... However 3 hours later a new Sigla one arrived as there was a local warehouse in Chesterfield that had some in stock for £220 all in.
Then I managed to crack the door glass which isn't as bad as it seems as it was quite scratched. Other than that it's gone together well.
