Would love to see photos of the whole car with the new pinstriping details now...
I didn't get chance to get the car outside to get some decent pictures - I will do asap as I too am keen to see what it looks like.

The interior looks really good, all the carpet that covers all the front etc, really neat.
16 years is a real marathon, but it looks great.

So many individual elements - lovely

It's good to see someone using the correct period versions (with the chrome rims) of the '911R' Hella rear lamps too ...

Hi Ralph,
Great build. Your car looks fantastic.

Can you let me know where you got the oil hose adaptor in your posting from Sun Jul 24, 2016 10:22 pm. I have the same problem with my 1970 oil tank and 1979 engine.

Many thanks
Paul

Paul, I had the oil adapter made up from an end fitting off of a new hose welded to a machined up pipe. I still have the other unused end spare somewhere if you are interested in making one up yourself - or I could ask if the chap that made mine could make another? Jez maybe able to make you one up if he had the fitting?

After me having the special hose made up, Jez then discovered my original oil cooler was leaking and I had to buy a new cooler - if I had known earlier I could have bought an old style threaded fitting cooler and used a standard hose!

Thanks Ralph,
My car is with Jez and he's aware this is causing a problem. I'm sure he can sort it out. I did get a pipe made up but I took a guess as to the diameter of my oil cooler outlet. Mine is 30mm, whereas the one I had made up was 26mm. The guy who made the original took a couple of months to come back to me before finally refunding me.
I'll speak to Jez and see if he already has the relevant parts. If not, I will come back to you.

Regards

Paul

I'd been reading another thread about fire extinguishers with interest as I have a bit of fire paranoia going on.

Initially I was going to fit a foam unit, but after reading about the cleanliness of the gas extinguishers thought I would fit one instead. I ended up fitting both as a firefighter posting on early s registry recommended having two fitted for proper effectiveness.

So I have a 1.75ltr MSA approved Lifeline foam unit mounted on an aluminium plate behind the passenger seat:

And a FEV 1kg gas unit mounted on a Brey Krause bar in front of the passenger seat:

Hopefully that's me sorted on the fire worries!

So I have owned it for nearly 21 years now and am pretty much finished at last!

If you pick up a copy of the latest Classic Porsche magazine you will see some great pictures taken by Andy Tipping - even if they do show some fat ba$tard driving it. Pro pictures certainly put my snaps to shame. Thanks to Alex and Keith for the feature.
