Just picked up on this thread.

I am with Footman James, Agreed Value Policy, unlimited mileage, cover in Europe, Full breakdown recovery, in UK and Europe. £190

I shopped around and this was by far the best, however it was because they are doing a special deal for cars that are 50yrs plus old so may not apply to some of you, worth giving them a ring though.

I'm also with Footman James, although they don't do track day cover. They actually quoted me £72 for £25,000 single day event cover, but then noticed the exclusion for Porsche and Ferrari.

Any leads for seperate, reasonably priced track day cover?

I've just renewed with Hagerty after looking around at other companies.
Insurance on the 911T was easy at all companies and all at a similar price.
For the 911R-insoired car the variance on premium was huge. Only Hagerty were willing to combine the two cars on one policy, again.
Had a claim with Hagerty too. Allianz dealt with it efficiently, if a little slowly. Assessor was a 'classic' car man too and agreed that a new wing rather than a repair was the right thing to do for the particular car.
So, agreed values totalling £70k, limited mileages (2k on each car) and European breakdown cover for both (I can only drive one at a time!), excess raised to £400 for the T and £500 for the R for an all up price £472.
Hagerty were/are easy to deal with, understanding when dealing with a much modifid car and will listen to reasoning. The increases in excesses (from £150/£200) were generated by me, not by Hagerty.

Just done the same. I got a quote from Classic Line which was a bit cheaper but I was'nt happy that they would only insure the car at 'market value' until their 'expert' had agreed the value I have now. They would'nt accept any previous valuation certificate or a copy of the existing policy, which I find a bit strange. As Mick said you pays your money.......

I did take out a policy with classic line. I cancelled it soon after the policy came when a) loads of details were wrong and b) I'd have to mess about getting agreed value sorted. Went back to Hagerty. Even if they are getting less flexible, they definitely know their stuff and you can always talk to someone straight away.

I have never had a problem with Aon (over many years) or now Footman James.

Just adding my latest;

To renew at £14k agreed value with Footman James was £231 including European cover & breakdown.

Just been quoted £201 by Hagerty for £22k agreed value, all other terms the same.

Agreed value by photos and description only. Although I may also provide some supporting adverts etc.

Just sorted it with Hagerty, made a real change to talk to someone who know the cars, and even has a picture of Bert's car in the Alps as his desktop!

Agreed value by photos and a good conversation. Job done. First time an insurance broker has encouraged raising of the agreed value, not decreasing it...

It's been £14k for ever! Mike's unfortunate episode has poked me out of complacency. So I now have a tracker and £25k agree value.

Just for reference a tracker makes no difference to the quote

On a modern car I wouldn't ever want it back if it was nicked, so the less trackers the better, but <i>my</i> 911 is different
