Before going I attempted to adjust the clutch cable so that the clutch engages sooner. I was surprised to find only one but on the end of the cable. I think there should be a second locking nut. I tried to tighten but not easy in a car park with the wheels up on a curve. Very strange looks from our hotel receptionist when I asked where we can buy a M8 nut in Central Paris.

The car ran very nicely. However, it appears they close roads on the first Sunday in each month in Paris which made getting to Ile Saint Louis interesting. Garden in The Little ParisImage

It would be even more difficult to find an M7 nut that you actually need for your clutch cable……….

There should be a locking but Neil but they are not a standard M8 thread. I can’t remember exactly, but I think it is a metric fine thread. Best order one when you get back

Sad to have left LeMans but we had a great drive up through the countryside yesterday to a superb hotel last night … turned into a big night :)

I even squeezed in the regular grass down the centre of the road route

Left Ile Saint Louis for Lille this morning. The 914 cruising at 80mph and getting 28mpg. Lovely stay with music/comedy/fine dining. By complete chance the TDF is starting in Lille tomorrow and almost passing our apartment. Allez Tom Pidcott and MVPImageImageImage

I took this picture of a 914 get and noticed that it had an engine grill, not sheet metal, closest to the rear window. I guess that is for extra cooling. Seems to be common on other GTs?Image
