Well done guys. Keep it up.

Its hard to tell how many potential buyers are coming and I'm sure many will take a look out of the window on the day before grabbing the car keys. I went to the NB event and although there were not huge numbers of buyers there was plenty of buying occurring. One bloke sold 3 or 4 gearboxes to the same buyer.

Our feeling here is that we will get good numbers. Tim the farmer has said we can break into his field if we need extra parking so lets see.

Looking good Angus - if the weather is looking a bit dodgy, will bring a gazebo along - will we be on concrete or grass?

cheers

Hi Ian. The trading out of a car people will be on gravel but there is also some grass. Steve Screaton will be organising that on the day.

Old car stuff rarely dies it just circulates...case in point I'll bring along a working Blaupunkt Frankfurt c1967 that hasn't been out of my loft since I picked it up at the HC swap meet a quarter of a century ago! Never had a mid 60s 911 but I had to have it.

Reminds me of converstion with an older chap who once sold me most of his stash of rare old parts. He predicted like him I would keep majority and put a layer of dust and then pass on to next generation -- he was probably right.
Swap meet is good for the soul rather than using eBay although I do well there not the same as a good rummage.I'll bring a few things next week-- just a few as weaning not cold turkey . Never sold things before (other than handful of things to several friends) so be interesting if I end up returning with a more full car but to find one less wife -- for reasons I can't fathom she doesn't share my enthusiasm when I'm unloading boot with dusty greasy smelly old car "treasures".

Steve

PS
Anyone need a rare genuine original factory RSR 110 plastic tank with 73 date stamp...can bring it along next week but it is quite bulky to thing tag along a day out to the countryside and back but doubt many of those kicking around :)

Just an idea. I see that Caffeine and Machine gets pretty busy each weekend and is only 22 miles away. Presumably Angus you know them well - would they be able to publicise the swap meet locally, on a notice board or whatever? Surely visitors there would like to go to a nearby free early Porsche event too? May provide a few more buyers for the more generalised literature and stuff...
