Thanks Dan,

The lid was 420 Dollars - http://www.gettydesign.com/911_body.html

Was very tempted with the EB Motorsport one although wanted the GD bonnet so decided to get everything in one place.

I let you know how it fits but expect you'll be driving yours by then!

I've always loved the Dymo labels you see in early race cars…

Image

…although on some they look a bit too neat and tidy...

Image

…I figured part of the reason is that modern Dymo printers are a little too precise and perfect but not the case with my latest acquisition….a 1960's label maker with different sized reels and fonts...

Image

…just perfect for this car….

Image

Getting a little ahead myself maybe although the shell is off to Barry next week and you can never stop planning the little details

All stuff and nonsense really but good fun! :P

Just occurred to me that today's updates include Chris Jury building an engine and me making a label!

Says it all really!

Funnily enough I was experimenting with various colours of dymo labels a couple of weeks ago - haven't decided whether I'm going to use any of them yet though ...

you are so right about the details Darren

its the fun bit

I have a currently bare metal shell. not even ready for paint. and an engine in bits.

and yet...I also have a box that contains yellow driving lamps, an original Becker stereo, and I have a Solar Productions sticker ready to go on a non existent windscreen :)

and debating one of those red "position" lamps on the roof

and what colour to anodise the callipers...

Hotrods are SO MUCH MORE FUN

Hot Rods more fun?

You bet!

TBH not a fan of lables everywhere inside, not that many switches to remember in a 911 well cleared of clutter?

However: Hot Rod: A car made the way you want it to be.
The best.

+1 Darren I'm afraid mate. The 911 dash is so cool while spoil it with cheap plastic crap

There are cooler dash mods I'm sure

But then a hot rod should be about your expression so really you should tell us all to FO anyway
