Afternoon All - I've also just renewed but with Heritage and have the same question as Stuart (dogbower) re Valuations.

Is there a DDK Valuations Department ?

Thanks in advance

TimB wrote:Must echo Jason's comments above, just got my Hagerty renewal invitation in the post...... +21% on last year for exactly the same cover on a couple of cars and no claims in the last 12 months!

Is this an industry wide trend?

Any suggestions on alternatives would be appreciated.

Thanks

Tim
My premium has rocketed 45% for the RS, limited 5000 miles, garaged, alarm, no track days etc...Haggerty. Footman similar, need some more suggestions if there are any out there please.

Speak to Darren at Classic Line.

That's who I ended up with. Ironically that's who I was with previously. They were always very good but quite busy...especially now everyone is leaving Hagerty!!

I actually renewed with Hagerty for the Porkers despite them not wanting re-insure another car that was on my group policy and a (relative) hike in the premium , but if you need to widen your net i've had good experiences with these people for non-mainstream cars:

I know Jelf, had our Commercial Combined with them for a while, and know Chris personally.
Had several quotes in, all with 30-45% increase, for no apparent reason.
Ended up with NBJ at significantly less than I was paying Hagerty....at my old rate !.
Insured value £175,000, 4000 miles limited £250 excess...
I will need breakdown cover however so that will be an addition, if you have any recommendations, would be appreciated, or I suppose I could run with standard RAC.

Thought they wouldn't cover cars over 15 years old ?

I have RAC cover on a personal basis - any car, as long as I'm the driver or a passenger.
Haven't had to use them for the Porsche, but they did recover my daily car once.

I've not had a problem in the years I've been with them. Called them out a few times with the Porsche too.

Don't know if the o.p. was , but i only ever think European cover due to the number of trips on the continent i do each year.
I'm sure there was some restriction which ruled out both RAC and AA when i looked into it , but that was a while ago now.

I ended up going with Classic Line as well as i could get the agreed value done at the point of taking the policy out and they actually ended up a bit cheaper for much the same cover :P
I have RAC cover that covers any car I am in, used it when my charging problems were worse, no problem with age of car. Only problem is they wanted to try and mend the car, and I didnt want them fiddling.

i've stuck with hagerty, still seem the most competitive & flexable for my fleet insurance.

Count me as another defector, gone to classicline. Hagerty wouldn't budge from the requirement for me to have a daily-driver policy in my own name.

£380ish for both the 911 and my mk2 Golf, Hagerty wanted £400.

I think Hargety just rely on the laissez faire set, which rankles. There is a huge difference in premiums out there, with not logic seemingly applied.

I pay £1100 for a £70,000 RS6 @ approx a third of the value of the RS !.

I would look at NBJ, £440 for RS @ £175,000 with £250 excess.
RAC @ £79, so £520 total cover.

Interestingly I got an email from Adrian Flux this morning saying the following:-

Dear Mark

Track days have become more popular than ever recently and, here at Adrian Flux, we have noticed a significant increase in enquiries for track day insurance cover.

Therefore, to fulfil the needs of our customers, we are pleased to introduce our new stand-alone policy, available exclusively to our existing clients who have a full annual car insurance policy. The policy covers you for one day on a track and offers protection against accidental damage, fire and theft and can cost as little as £63 a day...

Premium depends on track
excess dependant on vehicle values
discounts for driver experience
Discounts for voluntary excess

This offer is for existing customers only and is available only on cars insured with Adrian Flux.
Policy is available for customers between the age of 23 and 70 with 3 years of driving experience
Maximum vehicle value of £50,000, depending on the age of the driver.
Cover is available for UK tracks only.
