we're leaving from North london at approx. 5.00pm, after leaving the girls at my mums. The AA say 182 miles and going up the M1, M6, A5. is that a good route? I was going to go M6 and up through wales. Any suggestions folks

Indeed Mike best way from the south is M1, M6, M54 and then up the A5.
I think I might be leaving on Thursday eve and staying with the parents on Thursday eve - but if my work gets busy I will be leaving on the Friday about 2ish
