I'm liking the beige grey more each time I look at it. You mentioned the 'correct Fuchs', am I right in thinking that the Tourings Fuchs came as polished aluminium, and that the Lightweight's wheels were body colour?

The standard Fuchs finish was anodised with black detailing. Grand Prix White cars with Carrera lettering had wheel centres painted to match the decal colour, they could have been lightweight or touring spec.

Thanks for putting me right Nick. So that would make a black touring with coloured wheels technically wrong, in the as-it-left-the-factory stakes?

I don't mind personally, some of the coloured wheels look good, but some are really garish.

I understood that, if and when the Rs was delivered with either no carrera decals or with black decals, that the finish on the wheels would be in the classic way: anodised petals/ black recesses.

If and when the carrera RS was delivered with the blue, red or green decal, it would be delivered with "similar coloured" wheels. Now, "similar coloured" is interesting as I seem to recall that for the green option, the colours do not exactly correspond with the decal colours, if and when you follow the Porsche paint codes.

Nick, I assume, will be happy to provide you with two sets: one for the coloured days and one for the grey days!!!!

Agreed on this Youll find you will wait months for the right thing and when something close comes up and you pull the trigger invariably the perfect car comes up a week later and another a week after that

That said ...I went to see this car last week while here in Sydney and it is good but at top of the world price. A HK delivered RHD RS in a really strong colour.

Another vote for the authenticity of this car, also got a superb PM from Gulf208, with some interesting history of the price. Did it really look as good as the pics show it, or is that the detailers art showing?

Also I now have the addy of the actual guy that fettles these cars in Sydney, and has worked on and knows the provenance of this car (thanks Dennis).

For £228000 wouldn't you want it to be dead on?
Do some reading and you will see at least three inaccuracies in that shot alone. And there are others.

Not to rain on your parade as the American's would say.

That's exactly why I posted it Mike, to get a response like yours .
As to the innacuracies; I know of the seats, but the other two, no.....and others? Definitely no.
Please tell me what they are, because I now know how to get this price down to more manageable levels, shall we say.
(BTW; what does consignment mean?)
Mike if this isn't the best then I need to know why so I can discount it. Doesn't have to be an essay Mike, just a few pointers please?
The more I learn, the more I find out I don't know....Is there a Masters in RS's at the Open Uni or something, I think I need it.....
