FIA appendix K 914 rollcage

Post by autohausdolby »

Does anyone know who can knock me up a roll cage that will conform to the FIA appendix K regulations for my 914?

I've enjoyed reading the Appendix K regs several times   and I'm really struggling to see how they apply to the 914 bodyshell. Leaving aside the spec of the tubing for the moment, this seems to be the most common style of "cage" (it's more of a rollover bar looking at it through the eyes of a drag racer)

Has anyone got a decent picture of the inside of the Mittlemotor car (the silver one)? I'd like to see how that one is arranged as it seems to race in Historic GT races so is presumably OK :)

Having looked around at other cars it seems that a more complete cage is the norm. I'd really like to speak to someone who has a cage to the relevant specs and who's passed scutineering on that basis :)

914 roll cage

Post by WJ »

Hi.
I recently saw a cage been fitted to a 914 by a company called O'Gorman Fabrications, based in mid Wales. They specialise in cages. Speak to Shaun on 01686 411096
