Performance exhausts??

Post by KS »

Apart from the Bursch system (or copies thereof) does anyone do a decent performance exhaust system for the 912? Something which a) works, b) looks symmetrical and c) sounds good. If not, I can see myself coming up with something based on a two-in-two-out 'turbo' muffler... Or perhaps something along the lines of the old dual quiet-pack systems used on VWs...

Nope as it's for a 911

I'd look to pick up a Bursch header from somehwere (Ebay being the obvious) and then fabricate a muffler/mufflers using a nice ceramic dual quiet pack or the like available widely through the VW scene. Should only be a case of getting the right flange welded on at the right angle.

Alternatively I would speak to http://www.turbothomas.com/ who happens to own a 912 himself

is that a standard Dansk system with 356 outlet pipes? I think it looks really neat - thinking about doing that with mine :bom:

It was the one that they had at Mittelmotor in Germany I bought it off Larz..

give then a call and they will tell you..... say it was the one they offered on German Ebay back in 2002

Mine does touch the body work I have at the moment lowered the engine little ( 1cm ) to clear this so Iwill have to re look at this in the summer..

I hear some cars it clears others it does not.. needs more investigating..
