Alright DDKers!

Post by NSK »

Hello everyone, I've been lurking around the forum for a while now and thought it was about time I said 'hi' and got involved. Seems a very friendly and informative place.

I'm the proud owner of a '66 LHD 912 which I've had for getting on for 18 months and seems to have settled down nicely now after a few initial dramas. In pretty good nick but lots to do detail wise. Pic attached (hopefully).

Anyway looking forward to chatting to you all and learning more things Classic Porsche.

Nice car but I know a dentist in Ayrshire that has a stick that might be able to help you! So as you are new I will explain.... Mike (210bhp) who is actually a optician has a thing for Porsche ride heights and from your photo I think your riding height is a bit high. When we meet up Mike always produces his famous stick which he lines up with your car and will then inform you whether your ride height is correct or not. Of course it may just be the angle of the picture. Like the colour as well.

Welcome to DDK Neil, Nice looking motor, don't see many in that colour 8)

Beware the man with the stick, for he do telleth the truth of the height of the ride. (and his car (some cheap RS  thing) is too low!)

To be honest though I think it's just the tyres are too low in profile and we are used to seeing every 912/911 slammed into the weeds! We DDK'ers do tend towards the low, something about that VW scene influence :)

Thanks for the welcome guys!

pmjt - colour's not Aga Blue as far as I can tell - I believe it's a non-standard blue, from the documentation I have I think she started life as Bahama Gold but that was changed along the line, however I'm rather fond of it as is for now.

Yep I think my ride height would definitely fall foul of the man with the stick! I've recently realised the Fuchs are 14's so I think this and the low profile tyres are the contributing factors. Tyres are close to needing replacement do you guys have any reccommendations?

Quick 912 - will add myself to the poll forthwith.
