914 rear box?

Post by Gilbert '71 T »

Does anyone have a cheap 2.0 rear box hanging around that they'd like to get rid of, or even a good one, it's about time i had a look at my 914, the noise without a tailpipe (fell off on the A406  ) makes it a bit difficult to listen to the engine sounds. Don't really want to buy new just yet incase i have some work to do on the motor.

I'll be going to Husbourne

Thanks one and all :)

Have you got the tailpipe, Darren? If so we could do a quick welding job on it: I could pick it up from Husbourne, and bring it to the Fairmile (or the other way round depending on which way round they are ...).

Anyway, let me know if I can help :) .

That's jolly nice of you to offer Barry sadly the bit tumbled off the side of the road and wasnt in a place where i could stop go back and get it :( , it had already been welded once before so i was happy to have got a year out of it anyway.

Hi Darren, Have a word with Euro car parts in Wembley. Sounds a bit unlikely I know but I got a 2.0 litre exhaust from them a while back which they thought was a 1.7!! Worth a try.

i hadnt until now thanks for the pointer, just a shame it's Ansa, not really a big fan of them, the tailpipes are just a bit too funky looking for me :(

I've got a few checks/repairs to do on the engine and if it all goes ok i'll probably shop for a new rear box, unless something comes up in the meantime.
