the 'stock' SS single outlet is 107db?lacymr wrote:I currently run a Dansk SS standard system on a 2.4S, checked at Castle Combe its a 107 db at 4500 rpm, so I run a can for track days. This drops it by 4 db`s so you can do the 105 days and Goodwood. The mild steel system will get in on 100 db`s.

hi guys - the Autofarm silencer was 101DB prior and 106DB after mods, but i should point out that was static (with engine warm). the driveby was only 88DB proving that it's the lack of water jacket that hampers noise limits as much as the exhaust. I've heard of diehards putting a wet towel over the engine on the static test to muffle the engine noise but i wouldn't recommend it. having said all that, if you run open megaphones then anything with a muffler sounds positively civilised
