ok....some of you may know my car.......a couple of years back i decided to swap my tired 912 engine for a little more poky vw type 1, which i ran on the drag strip but never sussefully....so i thought i`d do something about it....its sat in my garage for too long...the cars goig through a full resto over the next couple of months....i thought id share it with you so far...
sat outside turbo thomas`s...alongside his 912
new engine brace fabricated by wayne allman intergalactic custom shop)
you can just see the late 915 gearbox.....fitted with a slight bit of encouragement
matty walker and richie thomas deciding where to place the turbo
tailpipe and turbo....with 911turbo style wastegate pipe
header system fabricated
there`s a whole load more being sorted with the car at the moment, like intercooler, fuel injection, engine re-build and resto-respray.....if you guys are interested i`ll keep you updated

Yes sounds like an interesting project so more updates please. And what do you think the bhp will be?

thanks guys, its been ratty and in my ownership for 5 years or so now....so it`s time for a change.....but stealthy it will be, BHP im looking for the 250 to 350 mark....there will be potential for more, i want a street car that does 12 sec quarters....raceshack are helping me develop the engine and obviously richie with the turbo, they are very good friends of mine which is lucky

250 to 300 bhp ! you may need to make them a tad wider !cubist wrote:Very nice... you have to keep the steels - they look so understated
I recognised Turbo's place and his 912. Looks like he's doing a good job there. I like Turbo's EFI ? Megasquirt by any chance ?

i`m going for omex 710 series, and 4 injectors....as for flamage, matty telss me he can programme the ecu not to cut fuel on the overun so the turbo should ignite the unburnt fuel ......fantasticimpmad2000 wrote:EFI ?
