Zenith Overhaul

Post by Loz »

Good afternoon all,

Having stripped down one of my Zeniths so far, I've noticed a slight difference in one of the gaskets.
The pump diaphragm on the original has a rubber centre which can be seen in the photo below. The replacement you see does not.
My question for anyone that can confirm please, is...are these just a revised like for like swap over? Or do I need to source a new one that has the rubber section?

Thanks in advance Image

Memory vague recalls these have an emissions device that is troublesome. Often deactivated at rebuild. That looks like a blanking gasket, in the rebuild set

Thanks Bruce.
I've read something about something getting blanked off, so that makes sense. Thanks for you help.

Sorry I wrote a reply to this and forgot to press send!

Yes, agree looks like they’ve been designed to blank them off. And let’s be honest that because that’s easier to make than the proper ones with the diaphragm in!
