All change at ‘Classic Porsche’ Mag?

Post by Bootsy »

Classic Porsche Magazine changed the name of their Facebook page this morning

It’s now…

Somebody may know what’s happening?

I’m guessing 911 World and Classic Porsche are becoming one title?

Same here, when Keith left it went downhill rapidly, lots of repeat features, and crap writing, lost what it was all about, and cancelled my prescription, plus they never turned up on time either!

I've stuck with it from the start to now.
It dived after Keith in many areas esp when you compare it to Octane.

Recently, it has had some good features, but for me far too 'historical' and deviates away from the cars, but just my take.

The details at times are irritating as the mistakes are so fundamental, and still have the 'Fast Ford' writing of 'blasting the beast through the twisties on full lock' and all that jazz.
Can't help but feel the Classic Porsche trip is over, all been written about before, but a good way to see the specialists and the advertisers.

Still, I'm very old now and sinking fast myself!

WT actual F? Clueless, absolutely clueless at a time when interest in early Porsches, classic racing etc is at its peak. If only I had been able to get backing to launch a classic Porsche mag along the lines of Magneto etc. So sad.

A thought... Seeing how Kelsey likes to buy any magazine on offer, I wonder if a deal has been done to buy Total 911? Merge all three mags and there you have Total Ballsup, I mean, Total Porsche...

Possibility

I still subscribe as having every copy since issue 1 my OCD sort of prevents me from cancelling but every time it automatically renews I never get the next issue and have to contact them to get it - small annoyance but annoying all the same

I happened to have a quick flick through Classic Porsche Magazine while in WHSmiths, noted one for the cars had already been featured in Volksworld and no coverage of their presence at the Volksword Show which seems odd as it would have generated a couple of pages of interesting content.

And they never even go to Classics at the Castle, which seems an odd decision for a mag with that title...

Usual bunch of corporate tossers?
Clear market for high quality quarterly IMO
Look at Magneto, 000, Auto Addicts and a couple more…

It's just the social media page that has changed name as they've merged two pages together. The magazine is not changing I don't believe.

Not that I buy it anyway....there's way too much content all over the place now. If anything I look at less as it's just all a bit too much!

Been in touch with the ad manager who says the mags are doing 'far too well' to merge (yeah, right), but Jason is right, the social media page has been merged as they 'lost' the 911 & PW Facebook page a while ago... :-D

As for prompts about Total 911, he went quiet...

I am sure their must be a market for an upmarket quality Porsche mag even if it was bi-monthly. I have on occasion bought a Duck and Whale which if it was all printed on the better quality paper would be a good sort of style. AirMighty seems to do okay as an upmarket niche car mag and you even get free foreign language pages

I agree. The only mag I still subscribe to is Automobilsport. 60€ a year for four issues, but it's well researched, well written, and beautifully put together. Airmighty is funny, as again it is gorgeous but the writing's pretty toss.
I'd much rather pay more for a good quarterly than an average monthly. And I would - print media is so much nicer than reading off your phone.
