WTB: 996 GT3 recaros

Post by ducktales66 »

The phrase hens teeth springs to mind but thought I'd post on here anyway. Looking to buy a pair of recaros for my 996.2 GT3, preferably perlon.

Alternatively if anyone has any advice that would also be great. Basically want to clubsport it as mine is comfort.

Thanks!

GSM performance are just about to launch the 996 gt3 style seat to their range. If you can’t find originals this maybe a way fwd as they can supply mounts etc also.

Recaro Pole Positions? Or are you wanting the OEM look?

The Corbeau ones look excellent to be fair. Considering them for my 3.2 Carrera.

I’ve always thought the optimum for a GT3 is driver bucket and passenger sport seat.

Racey feelz and bum clamping for the driver but retains access to the luggage space. Plus echoes of early race cars that had that sort of set up.

Be aware they don’t look exactly like the originals. I believe they are missing the plastic trims around the cutouts in the headrest, and naturally they don’t have the Porsche logo stamped in the front or Recaro logo stamped in the back. It’s more the finish around the cutouts I’d want to see better photos of. However I guess it is £2,000 for a pair vs £4,000-4,500 for a pair of genuine’s.

£4,000-5,000 is what they actually change hands for between private sellers. Don’t believe the silly asking prices you see on eBay. You have to be patient though as only 1-2 pairs in black come up a year (assuming you are after black). If you get another colour it’ll cost about £2,000-2,500 for Southbound to retrim them, so worth waiting for the colour you want.
