Re: The DDK Nationals
This is all nice and 'local' to me, about 1 hour and I'm there, so if the date(s) decided do not clash with one of my hillclimb events.

You cant please everyone- avoid Goodwood?
I thought JeremyGs idea of mid August was cool- if you did it the day after/before Megaphonics people couid get both into a weekend= really make it worth travelling

Re: The DDK Nationals
Was about to say have spoken to Phil, and he is more than happy for us to have a National DDK meet up there, so now just need to sort a date, I like the idea of the Saturday before Boxengasse. Need to check if there are any clashes.
But Phil did point out that the AirCooled Appreciation Society is starting back up this weekend and is across all 3 sites, so try to get along if you can. It then moves back to its usual monthly Wednesday night ACAS meets.
So we’re on for a DDK Nationals! I shall get it sorted and post up details on here for you all to try and help get people to want to come along!

If I'm going to make the journey Boxengasse weekend would be preferable as coming from the South Coast!

Re: The DDK Nationals
Following the initial enquiry about having such an event, it is quite overwhelming to see such enthusiasm and some firm progress. I must apologise for not stepping up to offer my organisational 5 cents worth but I find myself on the committee of a local classic car club which makes life rather busy being at the start of the season. Excuses, excuses, and here is another one which relates to the 356 International meeting in Portugal, I shall be attending this one, it's in just over a month and my little car has yet to receive an engine and a gearbox. This shouldn't be too much of a problem although the engine is yet to be built, but it does tend to keep the mind focused on one thing.
So please guys keep the DDK Nationals rolling and hopefully, I can be part of the team when my world is somewhat more stable.

Re: The DDK Nationals
Having both events same weekend means that DDKers coming distance ( I’ll come from west coast of Irealnd) can stay over between them.- even better Craic potential!Spit Nolan wrote: ↑Mon Mar 25, 2024 7:34 pm Was about to say have spoken to Phil, and he is more than happy for us to have a National DDK meet up there, so now just need to sort a date, I like the idea of the Saturday before Boxengasse. Re: The DDK Nationals
Cheers guys, I’ve put Saturday 10th August over to Phil to see if that’s possible. Will update once I know. Can probably arrange an evening meal and then a convoy down to Boxengasse the following morning that way.
One thing I may need to ask for someone’s input on would be to do some artwork to advertise it, as well as then getting everyone to push it.
