How times change ...

Post by Lightweight_911 »

.

I was searching for some paperwork yesterday & came across this old receipt which made me smile:

Yes - that was for a complete 2.4S mfi system plus a pair of S alloy front calipers !

I even found some pictures of the mfi parts :

I wonder what you'd have to pay for that set-up (inc a pair of S calipers) today ?

In 1993 I had my 2.4 E pump checked/rebuilt for about £50 at a diesel repair centre in the UK. (RS Deisels?) .
The throttle stacks I stripped and rebuilt at a cost of £5, all DIY

I also bought a set of A type calipers for my 'new' Bilstien front struts for £20/pr at a Husbourne Crawley swap meet. New seals, nipples and proper dust caps were a £5 note too iirc.

Soooo glad I did all this on my 911 way back and not now.
