No, I mean I simply detest the term 'restomod' – it's a personal thing. I hoped I'd never see it mentioned in Porsche circles, but it's become a buzz word in certain Porsche magazines. And so many 'restomods' are all style over substance, doing little if anything to improve on the original product. Love the basic concept of he Tutthill car, but the interior is awful - to me it spoils the car and is in my mind no improvement over the original, or a factory hot-rod (911R, for example).

But as the saying goes, opinions are like belly buttons - we all have them, and long may it remain so.

I think on the tuthill interior it’s up to you if you are paying the money - the one bought by andrewD on pistonheads has a different interior to the one harris drove

I mean I'm sure it's a lovely car but they said attention to detail is truly second to none, and when you consider how it compares to e.g. Matt's attention to detail in his Gelo replica, it makes you disbelieve where they say it's rust free.

I'll start the list after a cursory glance at the pictures:

For a self-proclaimed 'replica' of a '73 2.7RS it has incorrect:

- donor vehicle (1969)
- absence of mfi
- rev counter
- door panels
- carpets
- basketweave dash trim
- steering wheel & boss
- headrests


Plus, as far as I'm aware, Weber (not Webber) never made any triple choke IDF carburettors (they're IDA's or IDT's).

It says – “an exacting ’73 RS Evocation” – but there is an unbelievable LACK of attention to detail, this stretches the bounds of credibility. Backdating (an evocation) a later car I can live with but forward dating (this is not an evocation) an earlier car is unacceptable to me, but if you do want to do that to a 1969 911T so be it, but do not try to palm it off as something it most certainly is not.

This is a 1969 911T with an engine of unknown heritage, a duck tail, some wide arches, fiberglass bumpers and replica Fuch wheels.

My Rally Car is light years closer to an RS than this bitza – seems I have underestimated its value!

Given the above conversations regarding various terms used to describe vehicles I am wondering if I am also to be be subject to some opprobrium by refering to my 1972 err.....'ST' build as a 'clone'? Please be gentle due to the fact that I am much older than Graham ( 911 hillclimber) and adverse criticism could lead to stress and a coronary.

As to descriptions of these cars; back in the day (70's/ 80's ish) cars were 'modified'.
Modified for 'Fast Road Work' another term that still grates with me, or modified for racing, rallies etc, far better description, but then there were spins on cars and things, people are better at it now (maybe).

Today, there are these new terms used to layer the subject with glitter and gloss for marketing sake, to raise expectations, to raise the desirability and so to raise the price, or make it easier to sell....
Not sure accuracy comes into it.
