Such a shame that Carrera has been stripped of all its history - ex-John and Caroline Lucas race car, with great PCGB race history in the UK, preceded by earlier comp history in Kenya etc. Now just another 'outlaw' 356 with a posh interior. Sad, very sad.

With its Autocavan-built Scat split-port head VW motor! It was so fast but the 911 guys couldn't work out how – and as few knew what a 356 engine should look like, nobody thought anything was amiss when they looked in the engine bay! :lol:

An Apal Speedster - Dutton took a mould off one and tried selling them in the UK back in the late 1970s. I think they only did one or two. Had one on test while I was at Hot Car magazine. The rear bumper fell off going over a level crossing…
