I think a bit of a mix there.
The chromed shift lever is from an early (ie 2.2 litre) gear change, the other parts from around '73 cars with a 'tower' gear shifter. The parts there would be the parts you remove to fit a factory short shift kit.

Thanks very much - that makes sense, was chrome standard finish on the 2.2 era cars?

Not sure, but my 2.4T 1973 German spec was chrome.
I ousted that for a tower shift in 1989!
Fitted a works short shift in 1992 (thus knowing the bits that came out) and removed it PDQ 3 months later back to stock.
