The car has passed the Mot for the last 23 years this way.
Never a comment or anything.
They are both solid mounted, no swivel on the bolts. The stems were hand curved to allow the receivers to present upwards, the tongue snaps right in as naturally as my Skoda Superb's belts.
I think they need to be 'solid' to ensure the tongue can be inserted single handedly? Not sure.
The '73 car came from Germany in the early 80's with no belts, an MoT (very very dodgy one) added when I got it. It was dog rough.

All dead easy, just take them and bend to suit, surprisingly easy to shape/twist until the receiver is where you want it. The shape is maintained in my case since 1990.

I think the shoulder anchorage point was lowered in '73, not '74 as I first thought. Cees has just posted this picture at the ESR. I think the year of his car is '73.
